First, I won't even go into the issue of the "gospel" that is spread by the Jehovah's Witnesses. Suffice it to say that I deny that their "gospel" is the Gospel of Scripture. But second, what I will go into is that the verse above even applies to our modern age. As I have stated elsewhere, I take a preterist view of that passage, considering it a description of the period leading up to the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70AD. Specifically, I will demonstrate how the New Testament itself describes a "worldwide" spread of the Gospel. Not planetwide, obviously, but throughout their world, i.e., the Roman world.
Acts 2:5, "Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven."
Romans 1:8, "I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world."
Romans 10:18, "But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for, 'Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.'"
Colossians 1:5-6, "Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing..."
Colossians 1:23, "if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven..."
So, it seems clear to me that the Jehovah's Witnesses have wrenched yet another verse out of context, and imposed their own error upon it.

I view the Watchtower as a deceptive cult which disseminates false and destructive doctrines, holds millions of people in spiritual bondage, and deprives Jesus Christ of His divine glory.
Have you every studied with a Witnesses to know what thier position is on the bible topics you are stating? If yes, when and for how long?
What do you mean by destructive doctrine?
Do you know of any person of any religion, that joins that religion under compulsion, trickery or some other unsavory means? Who is being forced to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses since everyone comes in and leaves on thier own?
Jesus Christ is our savior and King of the Messianic Kingdom. We follow his footsteps closely. We accept him as being a god. He is part of our worship to his father Jehovah. We approach Jehovah God in prayer through his son Jesus. We teach millions and preach to millions about Jesus prehuman existence, his human exist, his post human exist, his earthly sacrifice, his false trail and illegal trial, his murder, we accept instruction handed down from Jehovah to Jesus to his followers on earth and we love, respect and appreciate Jesus 's role in Jehovah's purpose for the earth and mankind annually. We even give special attention every year to the last meal he had with his Apostles. And most importantly, we imitate Jeus by worshiping the same Almighty God, Jehovah as Jesus does. Jesus is the key to our salvation. How could anybody say we do not give Jesus his glory?
Actually, you bring up an excellent example of the deception used by the Watchtower: that reference to Jesus as "a god." In John 1:1, the Greek reads "kai theos en o logos." The Watchtower claims that the lack of the definite article in front of theos should be translated "a god." That is false. Unlike English, biblical Greek doesn't depend on word order. In a predicate nominative, the definite article, here in front of logos, was used to indicate the subject, and deleted to indicate the predicate nominative. Therefore, the proper translation is that used by most orthodox translations, "And the Word was God."

Instead, you focus your answer to my questions one subject as if that if the only thing you can comment on. You made some rather critical remarks and I am trying to understand if you have practical experience.

Jehovah’s Witnesses promotion of their Watchtower sect has the net effect of stumbling and turning people off to the real Gospel.

Steve, I referred to the Watchtower, rather than to "Jehovah's Witnesses," intentionally. I understand that some individual JW's are kind and sincere people, just deceived.
